Brief History
Manjushree Vidyapith Orphanage cum School operates under the Manjushree Charitable Society, which is registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 with Registration No. SR/ITA/580/1999 Affiliated to CBSE NO.2220351, School No. 37560. The Manjushree Vidyapith Orphanage cum School was established on 30/10/1998 with the clear objective of proving quality education and healthcare to underprivileged children who would otherwise lead disadvantaged lives.
The orphanage cum school provides to the children who have lost their parents, those who are destitute, and those who have become disabled either by birth or through accidents. These children are considered as members of a single family and are treated equally within the home.
Lama Thupten Phuntsok founded this home with the aim of providing education and healthcare to children from Tawang and nearby districts. Initially, the home faced numerous hardships in various forms. However, despite the challenges, there was a strong determination to create something constructive, productive, and meaningful for the underprivileged children in society.
Manjushree School was initially established as a primary school with 17 children's and 5 staff members. Then, in the year 2009, it was upgraded to a middle school. Subsequently, in 2022, the school underwent another upgrade and became a secondary school.
At Manjushree School, students from kindergarten to grade 10 attend school. Once they complete grade 10, they continue their education at a nearby school as day scholars.
Children from different sections of society, regardless of caste, creed, community, or gender, are welcomed into this Home. They are provided with life's necessities, along with proper education, in an atmosphere of love, kindness, and compassion. Currently, the home accommodates 338 children’s and 37 staff members, forming a close-knit family.
