Ven. Lama Thupten Phuntsok was born in a small village in the Tawang District of Northeast India in 1966. At a young age, he was sent to study in monastic education at the Gyumed Tantric University in Karnataka State, South India.

At the monastery, he dedicated himself to the intensive study of Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan language for 20 years.

After his completing Geshe Ngarampa Degree, Lama Thupten Phuntsok, was return back from South India to Tawang and founded the Manjushree Vidyapith Orphanage cum School.

The Manjushree Vidyapith Orphanage cum School is registered under the 'Manjushree Charitable Society' and established on October 30, 1998, with 17 children's and 5 staff members. Despite the potential financial consequences, Lama Thupten Phuntsok embarked on this noble endeavor driven by his love and kindness for the children who had faced various forms of discrimination due to being orphans, destitute, or differently abled.

This home is the result of a simple monk who possessed little knowledge of worldly activities but managed to start the home through dedication and a strong aspiration to help others. With 17 children and 5 staff members, he faced considerable difficulties, but each challenge strengthened his determination to make a positive and productive difference in the lives of underprivileged individuals.

Lama Thupten Phuntsok strives to equip these children with the necessary skills and education to contribute to the nation's development. He firmly believes that neglecting these children would lead to the waste of valuable national human resources. At the time of writing this biography, Manjushree Home, guided by Lama Thupten's compassionate insight into human problems, serves as a suitable home for 338 children. Within this home, love abounds, and knowledge is plentiful. The children receive everything from food, clothes, and healthcare to education, all provided free of charge.

The fate of a nation depends on the quality of its citizens, and their upbringing during childhood plays a vital role in determining their quality. Lama Thupten Phuntsok leaves no stone unturned and explores every possibility to provide the children of society with better opportunities to overcome their limitations and fulfill their potential.
